Between Light & Shadow ~ An Exhibition of Fine Art Photography by Ruskin Brown
Join us for the opening night of Between Light & Shadow, a debut exhibition of fine art black-and-white photography by Byron Bay-based photographer Ruskin Brown.
Held at the beautiful Gallery Cosmosis in Byron Bay, the evening will feature Ruskin’s framed black-and-white prints on display indoors, each available for purchase alongside an outdoor projection showcasing a wider selection of his work under the night sky. Come for the art, stay for the atmosphere.
The exhibition
Between Light & Shadow is a reflection of timelessness and connection, a body of work where spirit illuminates between light and shadow. Drawing on Ruskin’s deep love of trees, people, and form, the collection moves between intimate portraiture and quiet landscapes, exploring the moments where stillness and presence meet.
About Ruskin
Ruskin Brown is a film and digital photographer with over a decade of experience behind the lens. His journey began in the darkroom at school, developing and printing his own black-and-white film, and has since taken him across the globe: from London and Berlin to Spain, Morocco, Scotland, Ireland, and Thailand. After years working alongside leading fashion photographers in Sydney, he now calls the Northern Rivers home.
His work spans fashion editorials, portraiture, outdoor and event photography, with recent highlights including the Forest Nymph campaign for Syrup Underwear (featured in Rush Magazine) and an album shoot for Australian band Tora. Inspired by the fashion, portraiture, and street photography of the ’60s and ’70s, Ruskin’s work blends nostalgia with a meticulous eye for light, movement, and storytelling.
